alibris dating social customs - Polyamory married and dating showtime review

I haven’t seen it yet (though a friend in So Cal has sent me some disks of the first three episodes–sweet! ;^) Someone in our local poly community (thanks, Ellen Nichols! Kamala Devi and her crew also recently appeared on Dr. To no one’s surprise, of course, the rhetoric and framing about poly is not always favorable to those of us who identify as polyamorous. Drew ads, for instance, framed polyamory as being equivalent to “adultery”: Polyamory: when adultery is the order of the day Tonight on the Dr Drew Show: It’s been called “shocking,” “titillating” and “cringe-inducing” — Showtime’s new series called “Polyamory: Married and Dating” — real-life couples that seek relationships with other lovers. Drew asks them how they make their lifestyle work in a world built for monogamy. Her message was, to put it succinctly, that Poly can work very well, in the SHORT run.

Both agreed that the 2 couples on the show seemed to have above-average communication skills, and that’s something that is needed to make this work. The problem is not the jealousy itself–feelings are just feelings.

The problem is our (and often projection) of what the jealousy MEANS.

The guy clearly just wanted to have a threesome with two attractive women. The women seemed to actually desire deep emotional connections with multiple people while the men seemed to desire straight up sex with as many people as they could get.

The truth is that both ways are fine–if those ways are understood, but they never quite seemed to get there.

I don’t know what kept us going, except perhaps our mutual hatred for the show.

It came out in 2012 & 2013 so I get that I’m way behind the times but that’s what I get for not having Showtime (I also have missed out on but that’s a different story for a different day).

Person 2 [Later]: I can’t wait to go on my date with Person 1’s girlfriend, I hope we get to snuggle! This show made me want to become a better listener. Her husband walks in on them while the blow job is happening and then Kamala pulls a Bill Clinton claiming they had not defined “what sex is,” –which came as quite a shock to me hearing that from a licensed sex therapist who clearly knows better.

I don’t even want to get started on the Tahl / Jen relationship; I will say this, he acted quite weasley and often found himself caught in a lie of his own doing and I wish she would have gotten out of that sooner. We put up with a lot of bullshit when we’re in love with someone else.

I’m glad you found the show to be pretty good overall, though. Wishing you all the best in love and life, PS: Check my sidebar to the right for a link to a page that can help you diagnose jealous feelings in your relationship!

I watched episodes 3 & 4 together and will focus only on the quad for this post.
